The room when entered was spotless clean, room cleaning was not that bad either. The room is definitely not soundproof, but if you plan to be out all day and just sleep at night, works perfectly well. Everything is silent after 11:00pm. The cleaning starts at 9:00am, so if you prefer to sleep till late hours maybe not best option. Staff very nice and helpful. Hotel provide Basel card which is simply life savor! FREE transport within Basel city and almost 50 % discount on all museums. Room not spacious, but enough for 1 person. Overally, recommended, especially considering the location and price, plus room amenities was not bad as well.

Altho I arrived about 13.30 my room was available for me and the man on reception was very pleasant and helpful. All hotel guests in Basel are given a Baselcard which apart from discounts to sights give FREE travel on all trams and buses including to and from airport. Hotel restaurant had a good menu and 3 or 4 3 course set meal. The cheapest SF21.50 was excellent value for money. The breakfast choice was not vast but more than adequate. My single room was small but very clean and comfortable.
